DESIGN PROCESS

Here’s an idea of what it’s like to work with me:

First things’s first: let’s get in touch! I’d love to hear your ideas. Send me a message and let’s continue the conversation via email, chat or call.

Include as much detail as you might have in mind, including styles, specific visual elements, materials, and printing options where applicable. The goal is for me to really understand what you are looking for, and for you to have a realistic expectation of what I can do for you with an estimated cost and time frame. Up to here, there are no costs involved.

DESIGNING

 

After a downpayment, I will create a few design concepts. 

For a card or logo, this phase generally takes two weeks, depending on the complexity of the design. For custom illustrations or designs that incorporate mixed media, please allow a little extra time — I will always give you an estimated time frame along with the price quote in step 1.

ADJUSTING

Once you’ve reviewed the initial design concepts, I will adjust your preferred design according to your feedback until it feels right to you. The design process includes three adjustment rounds, but further adjustments can be done at additional cost until the final design is exactly right.

Of note: finalizing textual details for an announcement or invitation are included in the process and do not count towards a separate adjustment round.

PRINTING

FEATHER + MOON works with several printers to find the most suitable and planet-friendly solution that matches your desired look and feel. Most of them charge a fee for an optional test print. In most cases, the printed product will be delivered to you directly within a few days. If the design requires assembly, I can optionally facilitate this at additional cost.

PAYMENT

To get an idea of what it will costs to have your design created by feather + moon, please view the price list or ask me for an estimate.

Payment goes in two phases:

  1. A downpayment at the start of the process (approximately half of the final design price)
  2. Final payment at the end of the process (remaining design price plus printing/material costs)

FEEDBACK

The design process relies on your feedback – I love letting myself be inspired by your ideas. Feel free to ask questions and tell me what you think. You can expect open and honest communication to make this process as easy and enjoyable as possible.
