FAQ

GENERAL

FEATHER + MOON symbolizes the connection between art, nature, and people. A feather can be used as a pen, but it comes from the wing of a bird — one of many ways in which art is intricately linked to the beauty of nature. The moon is a metaphor for the way we see art: it looks different depending on how the light hits the surface and the perspective from which you see it — just like a different pair of eyes in different circumstances can shed a completely new light on art.

FEATHER + MOON is based in the Netherlands.

In English, en in het Nederlands.

Materials
All postcards are printed on recycled and FSC-certified paper types. Planners are printed on recycled paper, and the covers are made with a combination of recycled and reused paper. The paper types used in mixed paper journals are either recycled, reused, plant fiber-based, or FSC-certified.

Printing
FEATHER + MOON works with local companies that offer recycled paper types and digital printing in small quantities, both of which reduce the burden on the environment. Some products are printed on demand by a third party. This process diminishes waste caused by potential leftovers, and reduces the carbon footprint by shipping directly to the customer.

Packaging
The envelopes are either recycled or reused. To protect paper products from the rain, we use compostable plastic wrappers.

Yes! Select your preferred shipping option on the checkout page.

Yes! When you view your cart, you can select your preferred shipping option before checking out. You can choose between tracked and standard (untracked) shipping.

FEATHER + MOON ships with the Dutch company PostNL. When shipping internationally, they will transfer to the default postal service for that specific country (e.g. USPS in the United States).

Your items will be wrapped safely with planet-friendly materials, such as biodegradable plastic and recycled kraft paper envelopes.

Items are shipped within 5 days after purchase. The time it takes for your order to be delivered may vary depending on your location and operating status of the postal service. You can always contact me for an estimate based on the latest postal service updates.

For custom-made items (e.g. journals, portraits), please allow some additional time for completion of your order. The exact time for each product is listed in the product description.

Usually, it takes up to a week for products to be reprinted (e.g. postcards), and up to two weeks for custom-made items (e.g. notebooks, portraits).

If a product is available for backorder, it will be shipped as soon as it is restocked.

If you need a specific timeframe, feel free to contact me.

Backorders are orders of products that are temporarily out of stock. As soon as they are restocked or reprinted, they will be shipped to you.

I accept returns for most products, provided that they are unused and not customized (see below). You will be refunded the product price once the returned product is received. The costs of shipping and return shipping will not be refunded.

I do not accept returns or refunds for custom-made items (including customized journals, portraits) or digital downloads.

DESIGN

My creativity and experience extend beyond what I showcase in my portfolio. In other words: possibly! To be able to answer this question, I’d love to hear what you have in mind. Contact me to discuss the details, and I will be able to tell you what I can do for you.

Before you decide whether I am the right person for your project, I’ll ask you for details about what you need and when you need it (this can be done via email or a scheduled call). Based on that, I’ll make an estimate of how much time it will take and will calculate what it would cost. That way, you know exactly what to expect before you decide. If there is a change of plans along the way, I will adjust the price quote accordingly before proceeding.

CHARITY CAMPAIGNS

In a fundraising campaign, FEATHER + MOON donates 100% of proceeds of selected products to the designated charity. This includes the production and material costs, and only excludes shipping costs.

In other words, the price listed on the product page is the exact amount that will be donated.

I’ve chosen to set it up this way because I want to contribute alongside you. So with every purchase, I cover the production/material costs, and you multiply what I can do on my own.

At the end of a charity campaign, the details of the donation will be published on the blog. This includes an overview of the sales in the campaign, as well as a receipt of the donation.
